Yidu Qingjiang Star Real Stone Paint Project

Background

Located in the core urban area of Yidu, Hubei Province, this project is a high-end residential complex with an exterior decoration area of 80,000㎡, requiring both high durability and aesthetic appeal. Situated in a subtropical monsoon climate zone with high humidity and intense ultraviolet radiation, traditional coatings are prone to aging, fading, cracking and peeling; thus a high-performance stone paint system was selected to address these exterior decoration durability issues at the source. The technical plan adopts a four-layer composite system of alkali-resistant sealing primer + natural stone texture paint + water-in-sand paint + exterior high-elastic paint. The alkali-resistant sealing primer can seal substrate pores with adhesion force ≥ grade 1; the natural stone texture paint has a film thickness of 2.5-3mm and excellent hiding power to effectively cover substrate defects; the water-in-sand layer features elastic crack resistance to accommodate minor wall deformations; the outermost exterior high-elastic paint uses self-crosslinking film formation technology with artificial aging resistance ≥ 2000 hours. During construction, the substrate is thoroughly cleaned to ensure no floating dust or oil stains, then the alkali-resistant sealing primer is applied. After drying, the natural stone texture paint is troweled on with the film thickness controlled within 2.5-3mm, followed by spraying water-in-sand paint to form a stone-like texture, and finally the exterior high-elastic paint is coated. The entire construction process strictly controls the environmental temperature between 5-35°C and relative humidity ≤ 85%. After completion, tests show that the coating adhesion force ≥ grade 1, scrub resistance ≥ 2000 times, the waterproof grade reaches Class II standard specified in GB/T 23445-2009, and artificial aging resistance exceeds 2000 hours. Not only does the appearance possess a texture comparable to natural stone, but its service life is more than twice that of ordinary coatings, fully meeting the aesthetic and durability requirements of high-end residences.
