Background

Project Background: This project involves the exterior wall renovation of Inner Mongolia Tongliao No.2 Middle School, covering over ten buildings including teaching buildings and dormitories, with a total area of tens of thousands of square meters. The local climate is temperate continental, with winter temperatures dropping below -25°C and summer highs exceeding 35°C, accompanied by frequent sandstorms and high ultraviolet radiation. Traditional coatings are prone to powdering, cracking and fading, failing to meet long-term durability requirements. Technical Solution: A three-layer composite coating system was adopted, with an alkali-resistant primer as the base layer, elastic multicolor paint for the decorative layer, and a weather-resistant topcoat. The multicolor paint offers excellent stone-like appearance, with a artificial aging resistance time of no less than 2000 hours and adhesion grade ≥1. The topcoat contains film-forming additives and UV absorbers, featuring over 2000 cycles of scrub resistance and meeting Grade I waterproof standards per GB/T 50208. Construction Process: The wall surface was thoroughly cleaned to remove loose mortar and dust, ensuring the substrate flatness deviation ≤3mm. The construction environment was controlled at 5~35°C with relative humidity below 85%. First, one coat of alkali-resistant primer was applied; after surface drying, two coats of multicolor paint were brushed with a 2-hour interval between coats. Finally, one coat of weather-resistant topcoat was applied, with the total film thickness maintained at 120~150μm. Project Results: Tests showed that the coating adhesion grade was ≥1, artificial aging resistance time exceeded 2000 hours, scrub resistance reached 2200 cycles, and the waterproof level met Grade I standards, fully satisfying the demands of the local extreme climate. The project passed acceptance upon first inspection. The school authorities praised the coating for its aesthetic appeal, durability and odorlessness, and a 5-year warranty will be provided thereafter.
