Hubei Xingshan Resettlement Housing
Background
Project Background: This project is a livelihood resettlement housing initiative in Xingshan, Hubei for relocated residents from mountainous areas. It involves dozens of multi-storey residential buildings. The local area has a subtropical monsoon climate with hot, rainy summers and cold, humid winters, leading to wall cracking and water leakage due to temperature fluctuations. Additionally, the annual air humidity in mountainous areas exceeds 80%, causing traditional coatings to powder and mildew, failing to meet long-term durability requirements. Technical Solution: Exterior high-elastic paint was selected as the main coating layer, paired with an alkali-resistant primer and Odorless 5-in-1 topcoat to form an elastic crack-resistant protection system. The exterior high-elastic paint contains special film-forming additives to create a highly elastic film layer, with adhesion ≥ grade 1 and tensile strength ≥ 1.8MPa, effectively covering minor wall cracks. The Odorless 5-in-1 topcoat has a hiding power ≥ 98%, scrub resistance ≥ 2000 times, and VOC content ≤ 30g/L, balancing decorative and environmental protection properties. Construction Process: Before construction, the wall must undergo thorough surface treatment to remove loose layers and dust, ensuring the flatness deviation ≤ 3mm. During construction, the ambient humidity should be controlled below 85%. Apply two coats of exterior high-elastic paint with a dry film thickness of 60-80μm per coat, followed by two coats of Odorless 5-in-1 topcoat. The total dry film thickness must not be less than 150μm before the building can be put into use. Project Results: Tests show that the coating has an artificial aging resistance duration ≥ 2000 hours and meets Grade 1 requirements for water resistance per GB/T 1740 standards, effectively solving wall cracking and mildew problems. The project passed all acceptance tests, and homeowners reported that the walls are beautiful and durable, with significantly reduced maintenance costs.
