Cambodia Quanzhou Grand Hotel

Background

Project Background: This project involved the exterior coating of Cambodia Quanzhou Grand Hotel in Phnom Penh, a large-scale star-rated hotel building. The local area has a tropical monsoon climate with annual temperatures exceeding 30°C, UV radiation intensity above level 8, and relative humidity staying above 70% year-round. The exterior walls face multiple challenges including paint film powdering, peeling, mildew growth, and water infiltration. Conventional coatings last less than 2 years under such conditions, failing to meet the hotel's requirements for long-term aesthetics and functionality. Technical Solution: A three-layer coated system was selected for this project, consisting of an anti-alkali sealing primer as the base layer, an elastic stone texture paint as the middle layer, and a dedicated clear coat along with Sicilia art paint for the surface layer. The binder in the stone texture paint adopts self-crosslinking film-forming technology, with adhesion strength ≥ grade 1 and artificial aging resistance lasting no less than 1000 hours; the clear coat has a solid content of ≥45%, scrub resistance ≥2000 times, and a waterproof rating of P10 as per GB/T 50208 standards. Construction Process: Before construction, the exterior substrate must be cleaned to remove dust, oil stains, and loose particles, with moisture content controlled below 8%. Then, one coat of anti-alkali sealing primer is applied; after drying, two coats of elastic stone texture paint are troweled on with a 2-hour interval between coats, and the total film thickness is maintained at 3.5-4mm. Finally, one coat of clear coat and art paint is sprayed, with the total dry film thickness not less than 0.25mm. During construction, the ambient temperature should be kept between 15-35°C and relative humidity below 80%. Project Results: Tests show that the coating adhesion reaches grade 1, scrub resistance exceeds 2200 times, and artificial aging resistance lasts over 1200 hours, fully meeting the requirements of the tropical rainy environment. The project passed acceptance by the hotel owner and third-party testing agencies. The hotel operator praised the coating for its long-lasting color and strong anti-stain performance; we will provide 5 years of free maintenance services thereafter.
