Texanol
This film-forming additive (Texanol) effectively reduces the minimum film-forming temperature of emulsions, enabling the formation of continuous, dense films even at low temperatures and preventing powdering or cracking defects. It is suitable for various interior and exterior latex paints, water-based industrial coatings, water-based wood finishes, and inorganic coatings. The recommended dosage is 3%-6% for interior applications and 4%-8% for exterior and high-Tg emulsions. Being hydrolysis-resistant and a VOC component, 50% should be added during the grinding stage to aid pigment dispersion, and the remaining 50% added during the paint mixing stage to minimize foaming risks.
