Ultramarine Blue 382,C.I. Pigment Blue 29
Ultramarine Blue 382 (C.I. Pigment Blue 29) is a highly effective whitening pigment that neutralizes the yellow undertone of titanium dioxide and fillers, delivering a cool, bright white finish to paints with just a small addition. It is ideal for formulating violet-blue, violet, and gray-blue shades, and a tiny amount added to black paints enhances depth while eliminating dullness. As an inorganic pigment, it offers excellent lightfastness, weather resistance, non-migrating, non-leaching, and heat stability, making it suitable for powder coating processes. However, it is acid-sensitive and must not be used in acidic coating systems. For interior latex paints and putties, standard 382 Ultramarine Blue is recommended; for exterior applications and areas with heavy acid rain, the acid-resistant modified 384 variant is preferred to ensure long-lasting color retention.
