1250‑mesh Mica Powder(Potassium Aluminum Phyllosilicate)
The 1250-mesh Mica Powder (Potassium Aluminum Phyllosilicate) is a high-performance flaky functional filler. Its unique layered structure effectively blocks moisture, oxygen, and ultraviolet rays, significantly enhancing the weather resistance, water resistance, and crack resistance of paint films. For architectural latex paints, the recommended dosage is 3%-8% (not exceeding 10%); for anti-corrosion primers and epoxy systems, it’s 5%-12%, and 4%-9% for inorganic coatings. Use with caution in high-gloss topcoats, as standard 1250-mesh mica has a matting effect that reduces gloss — surface-modified special grades are recommended to balance protective performance and high gloss. During production, add it during the grinding and dispersion stage together with pigments and fillers. Small-scale trials must be conducted and passed before mass production when changing mineral sources or batches.
