Calcined Kaolin (Calcined Aluminum Silicate)
Calcined kaolin is a high-performance functional extender filler with excellent dry hiding power. It can effectively replace part of titanium dioxide to cut production costs while adjusting film gloss to suit matte and eggshell finishes. This product significantly enhances the scrub resistance, crack resistance, and weather resistance of paint films, optimizes paint thixotropy to prevent pigment/filler settling, and improves application leveling and texture. With outstanding acid and alkali resistance, it is compatible with water-based, solvent-based, and powder coating systems. It is recommended for interior matte latex paints and powder coatings, but should be used cautiously in high-gloss topcoats. The optimal dosing time is during the high-speed dispersion stage of powders after additives are prepared and before emulsion addition; never add it after the emulsion has been incorporated.
